What you need to know about the changes to LinkedIn

LinkedIn has been making many changes over the past few months. We’re going to run through some of the biggest, and explain what these changes mean for your business.

One of the biggest changes has been in the look of LinkedIn. LinkedIn has become much more image-centric. LinkedIn has added many new images and logos to its own look and has increased the photo size for Company Pages and Groups. With this new focus on images, it’s now more important than ever to create a Company Page and add your own photo and your logo to enhance your branding and visibility.

If you needed yet another reason to get your Company Page up and running, this may be it: businesses with Company Pages can now share images, videos or other files as a status update. You can also use them in your Summary, Experience and Education sections. Video is a really important marketing tool, so make sure you add one (or more!) to your Company Page.

And that’s not all…

Recently LinkedIn acquired the presentation-sharing social network SlideShare (Read this – Why you need to use SlideShare –  to find out more about SlideShare). So now on SlideShare you can connect your LinkedIn account to automatically fill in your profile. And when you upload a new presentation, you can update your LinkedIn account automatically.

So, if you haven’t already, it may be the time to jump on-board the LinkedIn bandwagon!
